NATIONAL CYBERSECURITY AWARENESS CAMPAIGN LAUNCHED ALONGSIDE THE 16DAYS ACTIVISM AGAINST GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE.
On 25th November 2025, the National Cybersecurity Coordination Centre (NC3), in partnership with the Ministry of Gender and Children’s Affairs, launched the National Cybersecurity Awareness Campaign alongside the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence at the Freetown International Conference Centre ( Bintumani) Sierra Leone.
The six‑month campaign will highlight monthly themes such as cyberbully, Know the law, Cyber Resilience and online harassment, with a strong focus on protecting women and girls.
NC3 Coordinator Madam Mariama Yormah stressed that while the internet offers vast opportunities, misuse poses serious risks, calling the campaign a moral duty.
Chief Minister Dr. David Moinina Sengeh officially launched the initiative, commending the Ministry’s leadership and urging collaboration across government, civil society, and partners to safeguard women and girls from digital and physical harm.
Other speakers, including representatives from government, private sectors, and international partners, echoed the call for collective responsibility, emphasizing awareness, education, and stronger protections for vulnerable groups.
This marks the beginning of a national movement to raise awareness, promote safety, and strengthen collective action against online threats.
