National Cybersecurity Awareness(Radio Discussion)
As part of the six‑month National Cybersecurity Awareness Strategic Plan, the NC3 team has been reaching communities across Sierra Leone through radio discussion programs on local stations in Makeni, Kono, Bo, and Kenema.
These radio engagements have become a powerful tool for enhancing public awareness, allowing thousands of listeners to learn about practical cybersecurity topics in real time. Discussions have covered:
• What is Cybersecurity?
• How to set strong passwords?
• Identifying scams and online fraud?
• Safe and responsible digital communication?
The panels brought together the NC3 team, civil society representatives, government ministries and influential community stakeholders, creating a diverse and relatable dialogue that resonated with audiences from all walks of life. By using radio ;the most accessible medium in many communities ; NC3 ensured that even those far from urban centers could benefit from vital knowledge on staying safe online.
These programs are not just informative; they are interactive platforms where listeners can ask questions, share experiences, and receive guidance tailored to their daily digital challenges.
Through this approach, NC3 continues to build a resilient, cyber‑aware society, reinforcing the message that cybersecurity is everyone’s responsibility.
Plans are underway to extend these radio discussions to other districts, ensuring nationwide coverage under the strategic plan.
