Sierra Leone Ratifies the Budapest Convention

The National Cyber Security Coordination Centre (NC3) is excited to share a significant milestone in Sierra Leone’s journey towards a more secure digital future. On the 8th of February, 2024, our nation took a decisive step by ratifying the Budapest Convention on Cyber crime and its First Additional Protocol on Xenophobia and Racism. This action, following a productive workshop with the Council of Europe in November 2023, marks a crucial advancement in our collective efforts to combat cyber crime. This ratification not only demonstrates Sierra Leone’s commitment to strengthening its cyber security infrastructure but also solidifies our position within the international community as a dedicated partner in the global fight against cyber threats. It’s a proud moment for us all, signaling a brighter, more secure digital era for Sierra Leone.
